This is the weekend for Ontario, Canada's Wilderness Traverse race and I submitted an AR World Series focused piece to Adventure World earlier this morning. I can be a bit more partisan with my material here, so let me start with a hearty "Go Team Untamed New England!"
I know I've slacked on promoting the races the various Untamed teams have been competing at lately, and while I could promise to do better from here on out I honestly make no guarantees since keeping track of where everyone is during a jam packed race calendar is nearly impossible. With that being said, let me do some justice to the team we're fielding out in Ontario this weekend . . .
The Wilderness Traverse race is long time Canadian racer and AR advocate Bob Miller's latest creation. In his words, it's a "back to basics, point-to-point race." Sounds great!
The Untamed New England team at the event is comprised of 3 veteran and 1 rookie racer whose
racing and wilderness experience is sure to have them competing at the top of
the field. Pete Cameron, team captain and navigator, is back after a year away
from racing due to a knee injury. This race is exactly the kind of challenge he
is looking for and he knows that navigation will be the key to success in
Haliburton.
Pete Cameron
Andrew Cameron, who started his season racing with team Untamed New
England in Patagonia in February, will be expected as always to lead the team on
the bike and use his physical strength to help the team move quickly.
Andy Cameron
Nicky
Cameron, who started her season racing the Huarasinchi Adventure Race in Ecuador
with an all-female Team Untamed New England, is back to race in Ontario and
likes the idea of only having to make it through one sleepless night.

What
little adventure racing experience Angus Doughty, the final member of this team,
has he certainly makes up for in outdoor adventure experience. With more
paddling experience than most of us will get in our lifetime Angus is also a
strong cyclist and enjoys a good bushwhack just like the rest of us.

This team
is certainly going to relish what this opportunity is about to bring them. Special for this race, I've loaned out the Untamed Adventure twitter account to Leanne Mueller (wife of Pete Cameron and an extraordinary adventure racer in her own right!) and she's going to try out some real-time updates from in the field.
Best of luck team, and we'll follow the live coverage at the race website or Leanne's insights over on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/Untamed_Adv!
