A few new developments regarding our Fall event . . .
What are you waiting for? This is about the only event we conduct that is truly "beginner friendly," so if you're wanting to get a taste of the sport and you're not too far from our location in Switzerland, grab a friend and a compass (or just a compass, at least!) and let us introduce you to a great sport! You can try it on mountain bike -- but I think you'll find the inclines and terrain hard to ride in many places -- so for novices I suggest just tackling the course on foot; maybe bring some trekking poles along with you.
If you're an experienced endurance or adventure athlete, with over 40 checkpoints distributed through the mountains, valleys, and forests of the Zürcher Oberland, what more do you want? I don't expect anyone to get all the checkpoints in the 5 hours, not even the speed demons out there! Maybe the Ibex or last year's winner, Staffan Källbäck, will prove me wrong?
We're also going to have a baby stroller (or "pushchair" for my UK friends) division! Mark Dowsett is going to run this event from the HQ, as I can't commit to the time with baby Killian just days away at this point . . . we are hoping to come out in November for a few hours, however, and join the baby stroller division. We've placed a few CPs strategically along the valley floors so access is reasonable for those with a stroller.
This is not an event to be taken too seriously. Join us for a fun day in the [probably a bit icy and snowy] mountains of Switzerland's boundary Alps!
