It's been some time since I had a moment to post to the blog . . . the Untamed New England race frenzy is just now starting to settle down and, as crazy as it may sound, a lot of 2010 initiatives must start taking shape now. Saving talk of 2010 for later, my next several posts will be reflections on the 2009 event.
We've had a lot of feedback from the race, with teams submitting race reports and photos for us to collect in with our other materials. It sounds like most racers really enjoyed themselves and that the race delivered (or exceeded) expectations in terms of challenge and natural beauty.
Team Towanda generously compiled this video/photo montage of their race: http://broadbandsports.com/node/28065?ext=1 . Hard to believe the race is just 1 week behind us already!
Above is a photo of our race winners, ATP/Salmon, as they "paddled" down the whitewater early in the race. Where is their canoe? I have an in idea, but no visual evidence of a canoe can be seen in the picture. Thanks to Michael Beniash of the Littleton Courier for the above photo, by the way.
I don't really have a cohesive set of ideas to share with this post, other than to post a pic and to get myself back in the groove of updating this blog. I have some post-race thoughts but I'll save them for their own entry. For now, then, check out the link to Towanda's slide show or study the photo of ATP/Salomon in the water.
