I came across a few innovative gear items from one of our New England race sponors, Hilleberg:
I present to you the Bivanorak (part bivy bag, park rain jacket). Read the specs from Hilleberg for more about the versatility. I think the marketing photo for this product went too far down the "grim reaper" road, but I'm still intrigued by the item and it would've come in handy at the race where we slept in that igloo.
Next up, is the Windsack.
Again, versatility is the key element here.
So two very cool items from Hilleberg! Their latest catalog is really good, with lots of interesting tips on staking out tents and general wilderness survival. We will have these (and some prizes) from Hilleberg at our race in July, so keep an eye out for it!
