We're getting into crunch time for Untamed New England, in case you can't tell by the dearth of posts to this blog over the last month or so. It's nothing we can't handle, but always demands constant attention as we sort out final details around the race this August.
On paper, this is shaping up to be a heck of a race. Last year, we got blindsided by a coure re-route last minute that stretched the course way out and made for several last-minute changes. It seems that is more a rule than an exception with adventure race organization, but so far this year has been really smooth and we're still working with the base we established last Fall. We haven't had a lot of "no, that's too crazy" from the land owners or permitting sources around here -- which is a testament to our hard work over the last several years to foster relationships and build the race the right way (without burning bridges or leaving a wake of destruction behind!).
So, hopefully I'll think to check-in here more regularly and update on the progress . . . but consider no news to be good news, and everything coming together nicely for our most rugged race ever!
