Spiffing Ales 1-Day Orienteering Challenge

Spiffing Ales 1-Day Orienteering Race
An orienteering course set from Switzerland's Spiffing Ales brewery. Travel on foot, or on mountain bike, and finish with the freshest beer in the Zurich region! It's a rogaine course, so earn points by visiting as many checkpoints as you can in 5 hours.

Date: Sat November 21st, 2009	Difficulty: Novice to Expert	Duration: 11 AM - 5 PM (with post event festivities continuing until ?)
Comments: You have 5 hours to visit as many checkpoints as possible; we provide good maps, list of the checkpoints (and their point values), and plenty of delicious beer at the finish line. Some run, some walk, and we've just added a bike category . . . but everyone enjoys the beautiful forested ridge overlooking the Zurichsee and with views to the Alps. Here are directions to the Brewery. The price is 35 CHF/person and -- besides a great orienteering experience -- includes the party at the Brewery including pizza and excellent beer!

Spring 2010

Untamed Switzerland 3-Day Alpine Stage Race
Each day is a fresh challenge of orienteering, trekking, and snowshoeing that showcases some of the best mountain terrain through the heart of the Alps; each evening is relaxed in the host mountain village. Snow shoes, strong compass skills, and endurance are a MUST for Untamed Switzerland.

Date: April 9-11 2010	Difficulty: Intermediate to Expert	Duration: 3 stages over 3 days
Comments: Compete solo or in a team of 2, 3, or 4 people. Regardless, you must be self-sufficient in the Swiss Alps and very comfortable with map and compass! We explore new terrain each day, so variety and Swiss cultural discovery are two hallmarks of this adventure.

Summer 2010

Untamed New England Adventure Race
As America's official Qualifier for the Adventure Racing World Series, Untamed New England racers face a rugged course of trekking, mountain biking, paddling, ropes, and constant navigation.

Date: August 12-15, 2010	Difficulty: Intermediate to Expert	Duration: 3 days non-stop
Comments: Coed teams of 4 people are our "premiere" division, but you can also compete in a team of 2 or 3 in our "Open" division. Staggering climbs . . . rooty and rocky trails . . . dense forests . . . exhilirating whitewater . . . these are hallmarks of our signature event in the great northeast woods of the United States. Come discover real wilderness in this mysterious corner of the USA!
