How This Works
You pick your "fantasy" top 10 finishing teams at the 2009 Adventure Racing World Championships; for more information on these teams, be sure to review the race rosters at www.ARWC2009.com/en/teams.php.

For every team you select that finishes the race in the top 10 of the official race results, you earn 10 points. For every team you rank correctly with the final race results, you get another 20 points.

The person who earns the most points will win a prize package from Untamed Adventure and Ultimate Direction! You will be notified via email, so use a legit email account!

The deadline for making your fantasy selections was Sunday morning Nov 8th at 4 AM Eastern Time (that's when the race starts: 10 AM Sunday morning in Portugal); no new predictions are allowed once the race starts.

I think I get it. Most CPs. Then most bonuses. Then time. That seems to be the sort for rankings on ARWC. So, yeah, I guess you can do whatever you do or don't want to do. It all adds up in the end.

I've basically given up on trying to follow it. There was a quote on SleepMonsters re: a team that hadn't missed any bonus points but had missed a time cutoff thinking they were "OK" bc they weren't interested in the next section. But there's no way skipping a section keeps you in the running, right? Right? :)

UltraBambi has to be hurt the most by the early race carnage for the Nordic teams. Ultrabambi have lost FJS, Explore, and Multisport.fi out of their top 10.

I thought we'd be able to post daily standings, taking a snapshot from the race leaderboard and comparing to our picks, but with the complicated race format (and zilch coming from the race org) we won't have an idea who is winning until late this week!

And another Swedish team bites the dust: Explore, running in 3rd place, has withdrawn due to medical reasons (injury I'm guessing). At least I didn't have this team in my top 10 (although I should have!).

FJS is out with a knee injury, the war of attrition has started. That's my predicted 5th and 6th teams, both from Scandinavia, out of the race. Tough couple days for the Norsemen!
